Editorial Standards & Corrections

Last updated: August 13, 2026

FinCalcHub publishes free financial calculators and guides for the United States. Because money topics affect real decisions, we hold the site to explicit accuracy standards. This page describes our sources, our math policy, and how we correct mistakes when they happen.

Our sources

Every figure on the site is tied to an official primary source, and the year is always stated (for example: 2026 brackets per IRS Revenue Procedure 2025-32, 2026 Medicare premiums per CMS, Social Security bend points per the SSA). We do not use secondary blog figures for tax and benefit limits. Where a number is an estimate rather than a statutory figure, the tool says so.

Transparent math

Each calculator shows its inputs and the formula it applies in plain language (the "how it works" section), and every guide includes at least one worked example with the arithmetic laid out. If a calculation is simplified — for example, ignoring state tax or rounding to the nearest dollar — the limitation is stated on the page rather than hidden.

Correction policy

If you find an error or an outdated figure, tell us via the contact page. We investigate every report, correct confirmed errors, and update the affected page within a few days. Substantive corrections are noted on the page itself with the date. Nothing on this site is sponsored or paid to influence — FinCalcHub does not accept payment for placement or reviews.

What this site is not

FinCalcHub is an educational tool, not a licensed financial, tax, or legal advisor. Figures reflect the tax year stated and can change with new legislation. Always confirm current limits with the official source — the IRS, SSA, CMS, or your tax professional — before acting. See the full Terms and Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer: This guide is for general information only and does not constitute financial, tax, or legal advice. Figures reflect 2026 rules and may change. Always confirm current limits with the official source before making decisions. Official figures: IRS.gov · SSA.gov.
